Amount in words with comma and dash
Do we need to write Comma, Dash, AND when writing amount in words?
In formal way, we need to write Comma, Dash AND when writing amount in words. For example, 12345 should be written as Twelve Thousand, Three Hundred and Forty-Five Dollars Only. However, the cheque is also acceptable when writing as Twelve Thousand Three Hundred Forty Five Dollars Only.
Similarily, it is fine to write or not to write the word “Dollars”. As the cheque is already pre-printed with the word Dollars, it is no need to write “Dollars” again when writing the amount in words.
