What is a crossed cheque?

Crossed Cheque

A crossed cheque can only payable through the bank account of payee and cannot withdrawn the cheque amount directly.

To write a crossed cheque, draw two parallel lines at the top left corner of the cheque. You may also write the word “A/C Payee Only” in between the two lines.

Bank may provide chequebook that the cheque is crossed. Two vertical lines are drawed across the center of the cheque. In this case, you don’t need cross” the cheque as it already does.
